UDHAMPUR, Aug 12: First of its kind four days training programme on ‘Mobile Forensics’ organised at SK Police Academy (SKPA) culminated here.
The experienced academicians and IT experts of this specialised branch of e-policing were invited to interact over different areas and the sessions which were coordinated by Randheer Singh, SSP and assisted by Vivek Kalsotra, Incharge Computer Center, SKPA Udhampur.
The course was inaugurated by Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria, IGP, Director SKPA in presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP and Stenzin Nurboo, SSP. 17 officers serving in different areas of the State participated in the course. The objectives of course was to make the participants conversant with basics of computers and networking, to provide basic understanding of mobile phone communication technology terminology, mobile forensics, search and seizure of mobile phone, extraction of evidence from device, analysis and report generation and advance CDR/Tower Dump Analysis etc.
During the deliberations it was emphasized that as the law enforcement agencies play most crucial role in cyber crime control, the various challenges faced by participants in the field and the nature of the present day cyber threats came up for discussion and possible solutions were purposed by the esteemed speakers.
Experts who addressed different sessions were Dr Bhavna Arora (AP), CUJ who talked about basic of mobile communications technology, Dr Preeti Dubey (AP), CUJ who talked about mobile forensics, SI (C) Gagandeep Singh, JKP who talked about universal forensic extraction device, SIM card analysis, SI (C) Rakesh Kumar, JKP who talked about CDR and SDR Tower Dump Analysis, Sparsh Sharma, (RA) SMVD who talked about spoof calls, data recovery from cell phones, website hacking, tracking, Dr Naveen Kumar Gondhi, (AP), SMVD who talked about basics of all flow under GSM, Dr J Jegan Nathan, (AP) who talked at use of Google for investigations and Rayeess Mohammad Bhat, SSP Udhampur who interacted with participants on  terrorism and communication and social media monitoring and intelligence collections, etc.
Rayees Mohammad Bhat SSP Udhampur delivered the valedictory address and distributed the course certificates.
