Traffic restrictions imposed

BHADERWAH, Mar 19: To regulate the ever increasing traffic and to avoid the massive traffic jams, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bhaderwah ordered traffic restrictions and ‘no parking zones’, here today.
The decision was taken after convened series of meetings with ARTO Doda, police officers of Bhaderwah Sub Division, traffic authorities, civil society and media representatives to chalk out the strategy for smooth traffic regulation in Bhaderwah town and its adjoining areas.
Addressing a press conference, SDM Bhaderwah, Dr Owais Ahmed Rana said that after several representations by the civil society and locals about the traffic chaos in Bhaderwah town reportedly due to wrong parking in the congested areas and by-lanes resulting into the numerous problems to the pedestrians in general, students and elders in particular, a meeting of the officers of line departments was held, and it was decided that all the commercial vehicles will not be allowed to park at Seri Bazaar and Pasri Bus Stand.
According to the order, all the private vehicles will be allowed to park only at paid parking and no heavy or medium vehicles will be allowed to enter into the town from 9 am to 7 pm.
Beside traffic restriction, Pasri to Seri Bazaar, Boys Higher Secondary School to Seri Bazaar, Seri Bazaar to Fire Station Office (via Ganpat Bazaar), Ikhwan Chowk to Eid Gah point, Jamia Masjid to Revenue Complex and Seri Bazaar to Gupt Ganga Road were declared as no parking zones.
“Taking into the consideration the problems being faced by the common people due to mismanagement of traffic in Bhaderwah town, which sometime results in law and order problem, we decided to impose traffic restriction and declared some areas as no parking zones”, said SDM Bhaderwah, Dr Owais Ahmed Rana.
