Traffic cops nab drug peddler

JAMMU, July 8: Traffic cops nabbed drug peddler carrying intoxicant capsules.
As per police sources, around 5:30 pm, DTI Inspector Sarabjeet Singh of Traffic Police City Jammu laid down a naka for checking of documents of the vehicle near petrol pump Railway Station.
During the checking, the traffic cops signaled an Alto car bearing registration number JK02AD-4809 for checking of documents, but the driver stopped the vehicle before the checking point and tried to escape. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the person.
During checking of vehicle, the traffic cops recovered 1344 intoxicant capsules and Rs 6000.
The nabbed person was later handed over to Bahu Fort Police Station.
A case under FIR Number 180/18 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the person at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
