JAMMU, Jan 8: A traffic awareness programme was organized under the supervision of Suram Singh, SP Railways, Jammu in collaboration with Traffic Police Jammu at GRP Lines, here today.
General public of Railway Station Jammu including drivers and officers, besides Jawans of GRP Jammu participated in the programme.
Traffic experts and officers of GRP Jammu shared their views during the programme and the participants were apprised about the traffic rules and regulations and their implementation on road for their safety and security.   They were also suggested to not use alcohol while driving and avoid rash driving, besides avoiding overload, wearing crash helmet and seat belt.
P K Mengi, DySP GRP Lines Jammu, Chanderjeet Singh, SDPO GRP Jammu, Surinder Kumar Sharma, SDPO GRP Vijaypur and Gouri Shanker DySP Traffic Jammu participated in the programme.
The organizers said that the aim of the programme was to minimize the accidents by means of awareness and to safeguard the precious human lives by reducing the number of accidents.
Lateron a darbar of Jawans and officers of GRP Jammu was held at GRP Lines Jammu in which about 100 Jawans and officers participated. During the said Darbar ample opportunity was given to the officers and jawans to put forth their grievances.
The problems put forth by them were addressed on-spot by Suram Singh SP Railways, Jammu.
