MENDHAR, Mar 14: The operators of scores of tractor trolleys today held strong protest against local police and blocked Mendhar-Poonch road in Chhajla area of Mankote tehsil in district Poonch today.
The operators of the tractor trolleys parked their trolleys on the road and stalled the movement of vehicles on this busy Poonch road at around 2 pm. They were shouting slogans against Police and SHO Mendhar. They alleged that the new SHO, Insp Abid Rafiqui has broken and damaged their music systems under the tyres of the vehicles as so called special drive in the area after taking over the charge three days back.
They alleged that instead of imposing fine or challan, the police was causing damage to their valuable systems while pen drives are being taken away by the cops. The movement of vehicles remained suspended for about 40 minutes on this road and then with the intervention of Tehsildar and SDPO Mendhar the road was cleared and traffic restored.
