Tractor trolley drivers protest

MENDHAR, Nov 7: Tractor trolleys drivers held protest at Mendhar town and blocked road for about an hour after a driver was thrashed by Police men in the main market here today.
Sources said that tractor trolley driver Zulfkar Ahmed, son of Mohd Amin, resident of Saruti village had gone to the Saria-Cement market for loading goods. While entering the market he had some heated exchange with the cops on the issue of parking.  Upon this the cops thrashed the driver.
Later, several tractor trolley drivers assembled along with their trolleys in the market and blocked road. They started protest demonstration against local police demanding action against the cops. They alleged that cops were getting entry from them at every nakka and harassing unnecessarily. The movement of vehicles remained suspended for about an hour. Later, Tehsildar and SHO Mohd Amin reached the spot and pacified the agitating drivers assuring action in this regard. Then they lifted dharna.
