Three killed in road mishaps

JAMMU, Nov 14: Three persons including a 75-year-old man were killed in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a man identified as Amit Kumar (31) son of Dushant Kumar, resident of Kahana (Reasi), was killed on the spot late last night when a bike bearing registration number JKB20-0468 which he was riding rammed into a stationary truck near Police Line petrol pump.
Similarly, an old man identified as Madan Lal (75) son of Om Parkash, resident of Sangrampur, was killed on the spot this afternoon when a scooty bearing registration number JK02BV-4291 on which he was going on, was hit by a speeding truck (registration number JK02B-8603) near Asia Hotel.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, both the dead bodies were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites while FIRs were registered in both the cases and further investigation started
Another mishap occurred this evening near D Mart at Greater Kailash, where a rashly driven Scorpio car bearing registration number JH05L-6566 hit a motorcycle number JK02AU-4326. In the mishap, bike rider, who was identified as Saran Singh son of Behari Lal, resident Rangpur (RS Pura), was killed on the spot.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for post mortem while a case was registered in this connection and both the vehicles seized. The efforts were on to nab the absconding Scorpio driver.
