Three day Science Workshop on ‘Save Nature Save Humanity’ concludes

JAMMU, Oct 1: Three day Science Workshop on “Save Nature Save Humanity” organized by Government Degree College Ramnagar in collaboration with DST Udhampur concluded today.
In essay writing competition on the topic Threats and Conservation of Wild Life about 30 students participated. Megha Verma, Smily Jasam and Sukrity Sharma claimed first, second and third positions respectively and were awarded with Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 300 respectively. Three consolation prizes of Rs 200 each were awarded to Madhu Rani, Neetu and Sushil Sajan.
In slogan writing and poster making competition, first, second and third cash prizes of Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 300 were bagged by Bandana, Mehnaz and Ajay Sharma. Three consolation prizes of Rs 200 each were presented to Pankaj Kumar, Sakshi Gupta and Mukti and Pooja Sharma.
A symposium was also held on the “Role of Students to Save Environment” in which first, second and third cash prizes of Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 300 were bagged by Meenakshi Devi, Palvi Gupta and Shagun Gupta respectively. Three consolation prizes of Rs 200 each were given to Shakila Rani, Smily Jasam and Hans Raj.
While presiding over the function, Principal of the college Prof Kusam Gupta asked the students to participate and contribute to save environment and humanity.
Sunita Razdan, Co-ordinator, District Science and Technology Council and her department sponsored the programme.
Earlier, Prof Kewal Kumar, coordinator of the programme presented the welcome address.
Prof Sanjana Mahajan and Prof Prerna Samyal acted as jury members.
Pankaj Singh conducted the proceedings of programme and the workshop concluded with vote of thanks by Prof Sanjana Mahajan.
