Thousands throng Baba Lal Ji Temple on 662nd Birth Anniversary

JAMMU, Jan 29: Like other parts of country, the 662nd birth anniversary of Baba Lal Dayal Ji Maharaj was celebrated with full religious fervour and gaiety here in the premises of Baba Lal Ji Temple, Jain Bazaar, where thousands of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu region visited and paid their obeisance to Baba Ji.
The function was organized by Baba Lal Ji Temple Committee, Jain Bazaar, Jammu. All the members of the Committee were present during the function to look after the arrangements.
The devotees started thronging the temple from early in the morning and with the advancement of the day, the rush swelled and continued till late in the night. There was a long queue of devotees right from Jain Bazaar to Temple premises.
Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta and MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta, also joined the general public and sought blessings of the Baba Ji. Earlier, both the leaders cut the birthday cake of Baba Lal Ji.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that in whole of his life Baba Ji served as a great source of teaching and inspiration for the people from all walks of life. He said that we must learn from the lives of these great saints and accordingly mould ourselves so that we can live in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
While invoking the blessings of Baba Ji, Rajesh Gupta announced an amount of Rs 5 lakh for the construction of community hall in the temple premises.
The Temple Committee had made elaborate arrangements for the devotees. A day long Bhajan Kirtan and Satsang was also held in the temple by the devotees. The devotees were also served the Prashad as the Committee had arranged a mass bhandara for them.
The main Gadhi of Baba Lal Ji Maharaj is at Dhianpur Dham, Batala (Punjab) and there are 22 Gadhis of Baba Ji in three Asian countries including India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Baba Ji’s Gadhi at Kasool Lahore in Pakistan is named as Lal Peer.
