Thannamandi College students protest

RAJOURI, Jan 14:  The students of Govt Degree College Thannamandi held protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) here today.
The angry students boycotted their classes and came out at Shahdara Chowk at Thannamandi and started protest demonstration at around 11.30 am. They were shouting slogans against the PDD authorities and District Administration.
The students led by Gulbadan Khan and Sikander Hyat (student leaders)  alleged that for the last several weeks power supply position has deteriorated in the area. They said hardly 8-hour power is released by the local authorities. The students and general public is facing lot of hardships. As they reached Tehsil complex, the SDM Thannamandi, Qayoom Mir came out of office complex and met the agitating students. He called PDD staff and asked them to improve power supply position in the area. On his assurance, the students suspended their protest.
