Pakistan High Commissioner says, courts have exonerated Hafiz Saeed of all allegations of terrorist links. Name a single Pakistani anti-India terrorist who has been tried and punished in any Pakistani court. Whenever any such case was brought before a Pakistani court, the judges were threatened with dire consequences and they dragged their feet. Terror rules Pakistan polity and as such, a high profile criminal who has been declared a terrorist by the US Justice Department become a free citizen in Pakistan to walk the streets and raise funds for launching anti-India assaults like 26/11.
It was during the regime of Zia that Pakistan army worked out the scheme of raising Islamic jihdist legions as the second line of defence against India. In due course of time the Jamaat-ud-dawa became organizationally and financially as strong as to plan subversion in J&K almost independent of ISI though of course logistic support came directly from that notorious organization. Hafiz Sayeed is the main architect of Bombay attack which took 166 innocent lives. With this record of murders and massacres, he continue to enjoy the respect of Pakistani civil as well as military establishment as an outstanding religious leader whom even the law enforcing agencies fear to touch because he can raise street force abruptly and instantaneously and bring the Government to its knees. India has given a plethora of evidence of his involvement in terrorist activities carried out by his jihadi goons and their affiliates on both sides of the LoC. From second line of defence, the JuD and its military wing called LeT have graduated to become the front line defence of Pakistan against India. It will be remembered that during initial days of Kargil war, Pakistani army claimed that not Pakistani soldiers but Pakistani non-state actors meaning jihadis were fighting on the side of Pakistan on the Kargil heights. Thus under the rubric of non-state actors, Hafiz Saeed’s legions are engaged in using Pakistani soil for a jihad against India, something which they have taken a vow to conduct till the last man. Pakistani judiciary and Pakistani state have turned Nelsons eye to tons of anti-India literature churned by the organization of Hafiz Saeed to indoctrinate his jihadi goons and keep Kashmir pot boiling. His organization intermittently publishes the list of jihadis who have been killed by Indian troops only to stir more anti-India hatred among Pakistani masses. Pakistani High Commissioner has to admit that there is no case against Hafiz Saeed and he has to feel proud that Hafiz is walking a free citizen in Pakistan. That is precisely the official duty of a state representative of a terrorist State.
