Terrorism will be wiped out from State soon: Nirmal

POONCH, Dec 5: Maintaining that State and Central Governments are firm in the fight against terror, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said that terrorism will soon be wiped out from the J&K State as well as other parts of the country.
Talking to reporters here, today while unveiling the bust of former District and Session Judge, Vijay Kumar Phool who was killed in terrorists attack some years back, Dr Singh said the fight against the terrorism will be taken to logical conclusion and peace will be restored in the State.

He said terrorists have no religion and their motto is nothing except to terrorize people and create devastation and destruction but the Government has resolved frustrate their designs and wipe out it completely so the fight against the terrorism is going on fast. The local youth who joined the terrorists’ ranks have now realized its futility and this is the reason that they are trying to return back to the mainstream, he added.
Dr Singh, while appealing these youth said that the road they have tread is not safe and it has nothing except death and destruction, so they should leave this path and join the mainstream for restoration of peace which is imperative for the development and progress of the State.
He said the parents of these youth have also appealed them to return and leave the path of violence. The Central Government has already appointed a special representative for talks and they can discuss their issues and problems with him, he added.
Dr Singh said that those people who want the peace should return to the State should come forward and join hands with each other. Reiterating that there will be no compromise on terrorism and secessionism, he said the policy of Union Government led by Narendra Modi is clear in this regard.
He said the strong steps taken by the Government to eradicate terrorism will continue but at the same time the process of talks will also go on.
Dr Singh said in last 10 months 200 terrorists were eliminated by security forces and local police including 12 dreaded commanders of the terrorist outfits which reveals the commitment of Modi Government that it will not make any compromise on national security.
Earlier Dr Nirmal Singh while unveiling the bust of Vijay Kumar Phool at the Court Complex Poonch said it is imperative to honor the martyrs who have laid down their lives for safeguarding the nation as it imbibes a sense of patriotism in the people besides educating the posterity about their sacrifice.
MLC, Pradeep Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Members of judiciary, SSP Poonch, prominent politicians, senior citizens and people from different parts of life participated in the function.
Deputy Chief Minister said it is imperative to pay homage to the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. He said patriotism is the most sacred feeling and the onus lies on us to ensure that it is properly propagated among the younger generation and the posterity.
While asking for holding such events on a regular basis, the Deputy Chief Minister said the people should also come forward and honor the martyrs by actively interacting with their families and also take necessary steps for their rehabilitation in the different spheres of life.
