Tension continues on LAC

JAMMU, Sept 17: Tension continued to prevail on Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China in Ladakh today.
Highly placed sources told EXCELSIOR that face-off between India and China civilians at Demchok and between the armies of both the countries at Chumur continued as attempts to resolve the issues during flag meeting failed to yield any positive result.
Another flag meeting between Indian Army and People’s Liberation Army of China was held at Chushul today to discuss the ongoing situation at Demchok and Chumur but no headway could be made as both the sides remained stick to their respective stands.
As a result of which, civilians backed by the PLA continued to engage in face-off with the Indians at Demchok while as armies of both the countries remained in a face-to-face situation at Chumur. The second flag meeting failed to end confrontation despite the fact that Chinese President met the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and even entered into Memorandum of Understanding on various issues.
Chumur and Demchok are the few places along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh where confrontation between Indian and Chinese Army is frequently taking place but this time People’s Liberation Army made Chinese nomads as tool to engage Ladakhis in face-off at Demchok, which is being seen as a part of new strategy of the neighboring country.
