POONCH, Feb 24: District Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, being organized by Poonch District Tennis Ball Cricket Association, under the aegis of J&K Tennis Ball Cricket Association got underway at Sports Stadium, here today.
The Championship was declared open by Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch, Ram Swaroop Sharma, who was accompanied by Mohd Tariq, Rajinder Singh, Vijay Sharma, Javed Ahmed and Narinder Kumar.
In the inaugural match, LoC Club defeated United Club by 31 runs.
Batting first, LoC Club scored a decent total of 87 runs, while United Club, in reply, bundled out at 56 runs.
In another match, Youth Club got better of Kamakhan Club by a narrow margin of 15 runs. Batting first, Youth Club scored 77/3, while Kamakhan Club, in reply managed to score 61 runs by losing all their wickets, thus lost the match by 15 runs.
