Telangana MPs seek Dr Jitendra’s intervention to end judiciary row

NEW DELHI, June 28: A delegation of MPs from Telangana, led by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader and Lok Sabha Member A.P. Jithender Reddy, called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh at South Block here and sought his intervention to end the judiciary row resulting from bifurcation of subordinate judiciary and allocation of judges to various subordinate courts in the State of Telangana.
The delegation, which also consisted of representatives of Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association, Federation of Bar Associations of Telangana State, Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee and Telangana Bar Council Members, submitted a memorandum to Dr Jitendra Singh wherein they drew his attention to the protest march to Raj Bhawan by over 150 judicial officers of Telangana State against the provisional allocation list issued by Registrar General of High Court. They alleged that instead of solving the issue amicably, the High Court at Hyderabad had tried to take them to task by suspending the President and Secretary of the Telangana Judicial Officers’ Association.
The members of the delegation also informed that the judicial employees of the Telangana State have issued a strike notice and will join agitation from 1st July if the issue is not resolved by then. They also threatened to submit mass resignations on 2nd July if by then the provisional list is not recalled.
The members of the delegation requested Dr Jitendra Singh to immediately intervene for cancellation of the list of provisional allocation of subordinate judicial officers.
Dr Jitendra Singh gave the delegation a patient hearing and immediately took up the matter with Union DoPT Secretary Sanjay Kothari, who, in turn, also got in touch with the Chief Secretary of Telangana Dr Rajiv Sharma.
Besides Jithender Reddy, other prominent members in the delegation included K. Keshava Rao, MP Rajya Sabha, B. Vinod Kumar and K Vishweshwar Reddy MPs Lok Sabha, G. Mohana Rao President Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association, M. Rajendra Reddy, Convener Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee and L. Hari Rao, President CCC.
