Tehsildar suspended

KISHTWAR, Oct 11: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today ordered suspension of Tehsildar, who has been arrested by Vigilance Organization Jammu for demanding and accepting bribe.
According to the order, Vigilance Organization Jammu arrested Tehsildar Kishtwar Irshad Ahmed Butt, son of GhulamNabi Butt, of Kishtwar on October 6 for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 7000 from the complainant namely Farooq Ahmed Kripak, son of Abdul Rashid Kripak, a resident of village Keshwan, District Kishtwar for issuing income/RBA certificate of complainant’s wards.
As per J&K Civil Services Rules 1956, when an employee is detained in the custody for a period exceeding 48 hours under any law either on criminal charges or otherwise with effect from the date of his detention, such employee is to be suspended and acting according to the law, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar ordered suspension of the Tehsildar.
Meanwhile, Phulail Singh, DSWO will look after the routine work of Tehsildar Kishtwar in addition to his own duties till further orders.
