KATHUA, Sept 27: A teenager girl was crushed to death while the biker was seriously injured after a truck hit a bike at Lakhanpur near Hall mark Hotel this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Juhi, 13, daughter of Pardeep Kumar of village Barmori, Nagri Parole.
Police said duo was on the bike which was driven by Balbir Chand the uncle of the girl. While reaching near the Hall Mark Hotel a truck bearing registration number JK02-C-4070 which was on way from Srinagar to Lakhanpur hit the bike from rear side. Both the pillion rider and the biker fell on the road. The truck diver losing the control ran over the girl and crushed her to death while her uncle was rushed to GMC Jammu for treatment.
The driver of the truck Shakeel who is from Kulgam district of Kashmir valley was arrested by Lakhanpur Police which has also registered a case against him under relevant sections of the law. The police has also seized the truck.
