Technical Monitoring Committee to review implementation of Bovine Breeding in J&K

JAMMU, Sept 13: The State Government has accorded sanction for constitution of Technical Monitoring Committee to regularly review the implementation of Bovine Breeding Projects in the State under Central sector scheme ‘National Programme for Bovine Breeding and Dairy Development” (NPBBDD), viz National Programme for Bovine Breeding (NPBB), National Mission for Bovine Productivity (NMBP) and Rahstriya Gokul Mission (RGM).
The Technical Monitoring Committee shall meet in the 2nd week of every quarter and review the component -wise progress of projects under RGM, NPBB, NMBP, Pashu Sanjivni, Field Performance Recording, expansion of Artificial Insemination (AI) Network and the establishment of Gokul Gram with more emphasis.
It will also review the performance of Semen Station, performance of AI delivery network with special focus on increasing AI per centre per day, AI coverage and conception rate, performance of  AI training institutes, extension activities based on State extension plan, performance of Bull Mother Farms/State owned bovine farms   and resolve issues pertaining to liquid Nitrogen delivery system.
The Committee shall also organize monitoring and evaluation of the projects under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission twice in a year by a team comprising officers of the State and the Central Government.
Besides, the Committee shall resolve issues in respect of project implementation and review the progress made in nomination for the National Gopal Ratna and National Kamdhenu Awards.
Headed by Administrative Secretary, Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department,  the Technical Monitoring Committee shall be comprising of Chairman J&K Milk Producers Cooperative Ltd;  Director Animal Husbandry Jammu/ Kashmir;  representative of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Government of India; representative from the Central Herd Registration Scheme/Central Cattle Breeding Farms/Central Frozen Semen Production and Training Institute; representative of Rural Development and Panchayti Raj (not below the rank of Special Secretary);  Head of Department,  Animal Breeding and Genetics, SKUAST, Jammu/Kashmir and Chief Executive Officer, Livestock Development Board, Jammu/ Kashmir as the members.
