Teachers Joint Action Committee deputation meets Advisor to Governor

Excelsior Correspondent
SRINAGAR, June 25: A deputation of Teachers Joint Action Committee (TJAC),  led by Vinod Sharma (State president JKRTTF),  called on Advisor to  Governor,  K Vijay Kumar  in his office Chamber at Civil Secretariat, here today.
While interacting with the Advisor, Vinod Sharma requested him for the implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of ReT Teachers under SSA as other employees of the State have been getting the same. He reminded that the benefits of 6th Pay Commission were already been given to these teachers and now 7th Pay Commission was un-necessarily being delayed due to which these teachers were suffering badly.
He also requested for de-linking SSA salary from the source of funding (MHRD) to the State budget so that permanent solution of this issue be found.  He informed the Advisor that SSA scheme was launched by then Chief Minister, Mufti Mohd Sayeed in 2002-2003 by opening new primary schools and upgrading many existing primary schools and during his tenure as CM, thousands of youth were employed in SSA scheme under ReT pattern and now these teachers were suffering badly for want of SSA salary and for implementation of 7th Pay Commission.
Vinod Sharma also sought the release of SSA salary for the month of February 2018 as the same is kept pending by the department without any reason while salary for the month of March, April and May has been released (without 7th Pay Commission).
After listening to the deputation quite patiently, the Advisor to Governor informed that regarding the implementation of 7th Pay Commission issue,   Governor is also very much aware and in this regard has sought the report from the Education Department up to 27th of June. He also assured his positive approach to resolve this issue as the department was very much keen in this regard.
The deputation comprised of Sukhdev Singh Sumbria (State chief coordinator JKRTTF), Azad Hussain, Hatim Qayoom, Shah Ashaq and others.
