Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Mar 3: A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum called on Education Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari at Civil Secretariat Jammu and apprised him about various demands of the teaching community, particularly the issue of dropping out teachers from the promotion list, who had acquired degrees from distance mode.
The delegation, under the leadership of A.Q Wani, State chairman and Ganesh Khajuria State general secretary, presented a memorandum containing charter of demands.
The Forum explained that the Education Department had promoted 1190 teachers as Masters in Feb 2014. Out of these promotee Masters 165 were adjusted on pick and  choose basis. Now after three years, out of remaining promotee Masters, 360 have been adjusted thereby deliberately leaving 572 in the pretext of written test for those who have obtained their degrees through distance mode. The Forum strongly pleaded for early adjustment of the remaining promotee Masters and withdrawal of controversial order, which has invalided the distance mode degrees.
The Forum also demanded immediate release of the salaries under SSA, transfer policy for regularized ReTs and the inter district transfer policy in favour of female RRETs,  Removal of pay anomalies of Master grade,  regularization of Headmasters Incharge ZEOs,  Lecturers and Principals, revival of senior teacher grade in favour of under graduate teachers, restoration of quota for in service teachers to undergo PG degrees,  exemption of teachers from all sort of additional duties, provision of Muffasil allowance for the employees working in rural areas, The Education Minister gave patient hearing to the various demands and assured that their genuine demands would be redressed on priority basis. As far as controversial discriminatory order No.66 dated 16.02.2017 is concerned, the Minister assured that a positive decision favouring teaching community will be taken within shortest possible time thereby clearing the way for adjustment of remaining promotee masters of February 2014.
The Minister also assured to streamline the salary grants system so that there remains no bottlenecks in the disbursement of regular salary grants of SSA, RMSA and NPS.
