JAMMU, Jan 1: All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation has suggested the School Education Department to cancel winter break for this session and accord 15-day earn leave to the teachers working in summer zone.
The suggestion was made by the Federation during its meeting, held here today under the chairmanship of Mohan Singh and Maheshwar Prasad, to discuss the issues of the teaching community.
“The examinations of class 10th and 12th are approaching nearer and there are very few working days remained behind and keeping in view the moderate cold conditions, there should be no winter break,” the Federation members explained.
The meet also highlighted some other issues, particularly unprecedented delay in release of pending salary of the Teachers and Masters under SSA, RMSA and NPS. “These teachers and Masters are without salary for the last six to eight months while the Government has done nothing to address their grievance,” the meet added and appealed the Chief Minister to personally intervene into the matter for getting the salary of these Teachers and Masters released.
The Federation also demanded GP statement, firmly maintaining of service book records, earn leave to the teachers, selection grade for under graduate teachers and release of time bound cases.
Those who addressed in the meeting, included Krishan, Shivdev Singh, Darshan Bharti, rattan Chand Sharma, Dev Raj Thakur, Anil Kumar, Jeeva Kant, Kuldeep Singh, Suresh Sahni, Prithvi Raj, Ajay Katoch, Showkat Ali and Arun Sharma.
