Teacher suspended for beating up student, case registered

JAMMU, Aug 19: A teacher posted at Government Higher Secondary School, Darhal Malkan, district Rajouri, has been suspended for severely beating up a student of class 9th, leading to kidney damage of the student.
The teacher namely Mohd Lateef, son of Mohd Abdullah, posted at Government Higher Secondary School, Darhal Malkan, district Rajouri, allegedly beat up a class 9th student Ishtiaq Ahmed, son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Darhal, leading to kidney damage.
The family members told Excelsior that a teacher Mohd Lateef severally beat up their son Ishtiaq Ahmed in the school premises on August 14.
They alleged that the teacher kicked their son in the abdomen, leading to kidney damage and at present he was admitted in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
They said that, the incident came to light when Ishtiaq Ahmed reported of severe pain in the abdomen and narrated the whole episode to other teachers and Principal of the school, who rushed him to Sub-District Hospital, Darhal, from where he was later referred to District Hospital, Rajouri.
After preliminary treatment at District Hospital Rajouri, the student was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he is undergoing treatment, as he has suffered kidney failure due to kicking by the teacher.
The parents of the student demanded justice and immediate arrest of the teacher, who was absconding after the incident.
Meanwhile, case under FIR number 52/12 under Section 323/ 341 RPC has been registered at Police Station Darhal against the teacher and a manhunt was on to nab the absconding teacher.
When contacted school Principal, said that in this context, he has informed Chief Education Officer (CEO), Rajouri, who has ordered suspension of the teacher.
