TCS visits SMVDU ahead of campus placements

JAMMU, May 5: Ahead of Campus Recruitments-2017, a high level three- member panel of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS), Delhi, visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University today.
This was a multipurpose visit aimed at strengthening of the SMVDU-TCS relationship which had started in 2010 with accreditation of SMVDU by TCS.
First ever campus recruitment drive of TCS happened in SMVDU in January 2011 and since then TCS has been continuously supporting SMVDU, Katra in Campus recruitment of students and other academic initiatives.
During the visit, panel also met Dr Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor SMVDU, Katra and discussed all important issues related to students benefits including up gradation of SMVDU accreditation level, employment scenario in the coming years, Industries expectations & requirements etc.
The TCS panel consists of Narendra Chandel, Regional Head, Talent Acquisitions, Rajit Sikka Manager Academic Relationships and Kapil Kochhar Sr General Manager from Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS), Delhi. Kapil Kochhar, GM and Head BU, conducted a workshop for the SMVDU students and shared his vast experience of more than 22 years in IT industry on the topic “Evolution of IT in India. He touched every aspect of India’s IT journey from beginning, passing through present era and projected over future forecasts. About 181 students attended this workshop.
Dr Sanjeev Jain handed over mementoes as a token of appreciation to the TCS officials at the end of visit. Dr Jain said that students employment is at his top priority and he is directly monitoring the training & placement affairs of the SMVD University. He added that of 130 students of SMVDU have been placed so for, in the companies like ICICI Bank, TCS, Wipro, ITC Ltd., Axis Bank Ltd, Orange Business Services etc.
