JMMU, Apr 26: Tawi Sports Club and Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor registered convincing wins over their rivals in the ongoing 5th Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament, being played t GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
In the first match, Tawi Sports Club got better of KCCC Blues by 50 runs.
Batting first, Tawi Sports Club scored 133 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Aryan Dogra top scored with 36 runs, while Aryan Chopra and Sourav Chopra contributed 21 runs each. For KCCC, Karan took 3 wickets, while Sandeep bagged 2 wickets. Ranjeet Singh, Sampark and Raghav claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, KCCC managed to score 83 runs in 14.4 overs, thus lost the match by 50 runs. Sampark, Samarpit and Subrat contributed 15, 15 and 12 runs respectively. For Tawi Sports, Anchal and Rohit bagged 3 wickets each, while Prince Gupta and Sourav claimed 2 and 1 wicket respectively. Aryan Dogra was adjudged as man of the match.
In another match, Singh CC Akhnoor defeated WCC by a big margin of 77 runs.
SCC scored a big total of 194 runs in 20 overs. Sumit top scored with 71 runs, while Manik contributed 35 runs to the total. For WCC, Raja took 3 wickets, while Ashish, Rakesh, Rohit and Gugu claimed one wicket each.
In reply, WCC managed 117 runs in 16.2 overs. Abhishek and Rahul contributed 36 and 21 runs to the total respectively. Rajinder and Sumit bagged 2 wickets each for SCC Akhnoor. Sumit was declared as man of the match for his brilliant innings.
