JAMMU, Nov 2: Tawi Sports Club defeated Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) by 3 wickets in the last match of the 5-Match Friendship Series, organized by KCCC at Science College Hostel ground, here.
Ramesh Mahajan, former chairman JKCA was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Ankush Abrol, Working Committee Member JKCA and Desh Rattan Dubey, Joint Secretary JKCA Jammu Wing and Rajesh Dhar, Chairman Media Committee JKCA were the guests of honour.
Shashi Paul was the organizing secretary, while Sunil Kumar was the coach of the winning team.
Earlier, batting first, KCCC scored a paltry total of 92 runs in the stipulated 25 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Promising opener Aarav Mahajan was the top scorer with 42 runs off 63 balls, while Arya contributed 20 runs to the total. Aarav was in awe-inspiring touch, hitting the ball was fluid grace and utter-brilliance. From Tawi Sports Club, skipper Praful Dhar was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 important wickets, while Udhay Pratap Singh and Suraj claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Tawi Sports Club reached the required target in 17.5 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Cherian top scored with 18 runs, while Praful and Chitwan contributed unbeaten 11 runs each. Udhay Pratap Singh also chipped in with 8 runs. From KCCC, Sachin Sharma and Nityam Abrol took 2 wickets each, while Prabjot and Bismad claimed one wicket each.
Aarav Mahajan was declared as the best batsman of the series, while Nityam was adjudged as the best bowler.
The series was organized for the young cricketers to provide them opportunity to hone their skill.
The chief guest presented tracksuits and bags to the participating players as a token of gratitude from the organizers.
