Tawi College organizes guest lecture on GST

JAMMU, Oct 1: To acquaint the students with the Goods and Service Tax system (GST) a guest lecture was organized by Department of Management, for B.Com (Professional) students of Tawi College, Shahpurkandi, Pathankot.
Chartered Accountant, Nitish Gupta, was the Resource Person. In his key note address, he deliberated extensively on the fundamentals of GST, comparative analysis of GST with other Indirect taxes, CGST, SGST, IGST, Taxable Supply, Cascading effect and implementation as well as implications of GST. He informed that GST is being followed by 163 countries and in India it is the biggest tax reform after independence as it will change the way of doing business.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Dr Deepak Sharma, Dean, Tawi College. He exhorted that the campus is ever ready to execute the ideas of organizing such programmes to enhance the skill set and knowledge base of the students. In the end Vinod Rampal delivered vote of thanks.
All college faculty members, including Radhika (HOD), Himani, Sahil Gupta, Harbans Singh, Pallavi Pathania, Kanchan Sharma and all the students of three semesters of B Com (Professional) were the participants during the lecture.
