Tata Sumo driver held with 8 kg ‘Bukki’

POONCH, May 12: A  Tata Sumo driver along with 8 kg poppy straw (Bukki)  was arrested by Surankote police on  Mughal Road today.
Police sources said that SDPO Surankote,  Asgar Malik during  special naka  ahead of Behramgalla on Mughal Road intercepted a Tata Sumo No. JK-12/ 3218  and during checking recovered a bag containing 8 kg poppy straw.  It was hidden by the driver under his seat.
The police arrested the driver along with consignment  and registered a case FIR  No. 67/ 2017 under NDPS Act against him. He was identified as Abdul Majid, son of Shera Gujjar, resident of Bachaan Wali village  in Poonch. He had  to deliver  this consignment  in Jammu. The police has started investigation into the case. His vehicle was also seized.
