Tamil Nadu to face Rajasthan in summit clash today

JAMMU, Jan.22: Jammu and Kashmir’s convincing win over formidable Haryana has benefited Rajasthan and put them in the finals to lock horns with Tamil Nadu in the ongoing All India Super Six T20 Cricket Tournament for Physically Challenged Cricketers, being played at Gulshan Ground, here.
The tournament in which 6 teams namely Madhya Pradesh,Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu,West Bengal, Haryana and J&K are participating, is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.
The Organizing Committee includes Dilbag Singh ADGP Chairman, Shafqat Ali Wattali, IGP Armed Organizing Secretary and Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Former Ranji Trophy Player as the coordinator of the event.
In the first match played today, Tamil Nadu scripted victory over Madhya Pradesh by 33 runs.
Batting first, Tamil Nadu XI scored 122 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Rajesh top scored with 28 runs, while Sachin Shiva contributed 19 runs and Ponraj chipped in with 15 runs. From Madhya Pardesh, Pardeep and Manish took 3 wickets each, while Rakesh and Sanjay shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Madhya Pardesh collapsed at 89 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 33 runs. Shiv Partap made 13 runs, while Rajesh and Pardeep contributed 12 and 11 runs for their team. Rajesh, Rajmahesh and Marutha took 2 wickets each, while Manivanan took 1 wicket. Rajesh was adjudged as man of the match.
In the second match, J&K defeated Haryana by 3 wickets. With this win, J&K, Haryana and Rajasthan have one win each, wherein Rajasthan qualified for the finals via better net run rate.
Earlier, batting first, Haryana XI scored 147 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs game. Omveer Singh scored 38 runs, while Sandeep made 20 runs and Deepak contributed 17 runs to the total. From J&K, Nadeem took 3 wickets, Jagmohan, Firdose, Ranjeet and Mohd Younus took 1 wicket each.
In reply, J&K chased the target in 19.1 overs by losing 7 wickets, thus won the match by 3 wickets. Jagmohan scored unbeaten 64 runs, while Mohd. Younus made valuable 18 runs and Akhlaq Ahmad chipped in with 14 runs. Tarun, Omveer,Vinod and Mangeram took 1 wicket each for Haryana team. Jagmohan of J&K was declared as man of the match for his all-round performance.
The matches were officiated by Sudhir Singh, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Madan Mohan, Suresh Singh and Sandeep Manchanda.
Meanwhile, Ravi Chouhan, Founder Secretary of Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India said that J&K has a strong bunch of Physically Challenged cricketers, which got better of star-studded Haryana comprising of 5 international players. He appreciated Rajesh Gill Director of the J&K Physically Challenged Cricket team for his efforts announced that two players from J&K namely Jagmohan and Syed Shah Aziz have been selected for India Camp.
