Taking revenge in ‘Peppermint’ felt ‘satisfying’, says Jennifer Garner

LOS ANGELES, Sept 10: Jennifer Garner has said the revenge arc of her character in the upcoming film “Peppermint” felt “satisfying” to her as an actor.
The 46-year-old actor plays Riley North, a vigilante woman seeking justice from those who killed her husband and daughter.
“To me, if you’re going to do an action movie, it has to be grounded in emotion. And the emotion, whatever happens, has to be strong enough that it makes you just – you have no choice to fight, you have no choice to pick up a weapon. This was an expression of that mom rage,” Garner told Collider.
“It’s a fantasy, it’s obviously not how everyone should live. Greek tragedy – there’s something really satisfying about watching somebody take control of a situation and have some revenge,” she added.
When asked why she took a break from action films, Garner said motherhood made it tough for her to take up such roles.
“I was having babies and they don’t really go together. It’s really hard. I did ‘Kingdom’ when I had a little baby and it’s tricky on your body. My kids are all at school now, I have the time to train, so it’s much more about schedule and things like that,” she said. (PTI)
