Implementation of traffic rules in Jammu is not the only responsibility of Traffic police only. Without the cooperation from the public, the current mess is bound to deteriorate in the times to come. People wearing helmets just to escape fine from Traffic Police and when no one is around who cares. Similar is the case of people driving four wheelers. Hardly any person wears seat belt and more so there is hardly any concept of lane driving. These violators get equal support from the passenger vehicles who hardly bother about the pedestrians. Over speeding and overtaking in wrong lanes are the normal scenes.
Public in general should contemplate for what they are contributing for the betterment of society. Atleast the beginning can be made by following the traffic rules, like wearing seat belts, helmets, lane driving, use of low beam during nights in city, etc. By taking these small steps, we can significantly contribute in the current traffic mess in the city, reducing the rate of accidents and leaving a better example for the our future generations.
