Tak for collective efforts to bring equitable growth

KISHTWAR, Mar 13: Member Legislative Council Firdous Tak today said that there was need for collective efforts for ensuring equitable growth in all sections of the society.
“We need to go back to our roots in order to end discrimination and gender bias in the society and provide equal rights to women, making them equal partner in the growth and transformation”, he said while addressing a function, here.
On the occasion, prominent social worker Tasleem Sheikh alongwith her supporters joined PDP.
District President PDP Sheikh Nasir Hussain, Ishtiyaq Hussain Waza, General Secretary Youth Umar Malik, Arshad Hussain Giri, Sajad Ahmed Dev, Roshan Lal, Joginder Bhandari, Jaffer Hussain Babzada, Fida Hussain besides large number of party workers were present on the occasion.
The legislator said that it was for the first time that any Government has taken such large number of welfare measures in a short span without compromising the fiscal health of the State.
“It was for the first time that Government implemented any pay commission recommendations and addressed most of issues of working class without any strike and agitation. The regularization of daily wagers, insurance to BPL families, welfare schemes for construction workers, bonanza of programmes for students and unemployed youth, measures for traders, business establishments, PSUs and transporters beside others was possible because in last few years Government plugged all holes and brought a transparent system to life”, he said.
He added that the measures initiated in the social welfare sector are specially aimed at uplifting weaker sections of the society.
He further said that the popularity of PDP has frustrated opposition adding that the people at gross root level have understood that PDP is the only party which believes in practicals.
