Srinagar, May 14: Army today said in conjunction with the local youth of Behibagh in Kulgam district, the Army organised a day- night T-20 match dedicating it to the memory of slain Lt Ummer Fayaz.
A Defence spokesman said the friendly match was played between teams from Behibagh and Palnoo which the latter won in a keen contest. “The match was befittingly very high on camaraderie quotient as displayed by all team members which the players said was their way of paying homage to their childhood friend Fayaz who had always stood by his friends and was a role model to many.
“This unique gesture from the youth promises to be the harbinger of peace and normalcy in the region,” the defence spokesman added.
