NEW DELHI, Aug 21: “Yog Guru” Swami Baba Ramdev today called on Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh and discussed a wide range of issues of national importance, while also complimenting the Minister for the fast pace development and rapid transformation witnessed in the Northeast during the last four years.
Swami Ramdev, who widely travels in different parts within and outside the country, said that he was particularly impressed by the focused attention given by the Modi Government to the growth and development of the North Eastern region. This, he said, has not only helped in raising the development status of the region at a comparative level with the rest of the country, but has also instilled among the people of North Eastern region, a sense of reassurance and confidence towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Government.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is particularly keen to give special attention to far-flung regions like Northeast and Jammu & Kashmir, so that these should become important and essential contributors to the overall Growth Story of New India. He also updated the “Yog Guru” about the various new projects initiated during the last four years in Jammu & Kashmir and North-east.
Dr Jitendra Singh also invited “Yog Guru” Swami Baba Ramdev for holding a congregation in his Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency of Udhampur – Kathua- Doda. Ramdev, in response, said, he would be glad to contribute in any such activity which is aimed at social upliftment and social reform.
