SVC summons ADC Kupwara on Feb 13

JAMMU: Taking a serious note of the delay in submitting report in connection with complaints against Block Development Officers (BDOs), the State Vigilance Commission (SVC) today issued show cause notice to Kupwara Additional Deputy Commissioner asking why proceedings should not be initiated against him for ignoring its directions.

The SVC has sought an explanation from ADC Kupwara asking him as to why proceedings should not be initiated against him under the provisions of SVC Act and rules for ignoring the Commission’s directions, a SVC spokesman said.

Notice was issued today by SVC after taking a serious note of the delay caused in submitting report, which the Commission has sought in a complaint filed against BDOs of Langate and Kralgund and others, he said.

The Commission was adjudicating a complaint filed by the residents of village Walrama Tehsil Langate of Kupwara district about alleged misappropriation of Government funds by BDOs of Langate and Kralgund blocks with the involvement of Junior Engineer (JE) Rural Development department (RDD) Kralgund, Qaziabad, Langate, VLW, Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch of village Walrama.

The complainants also alleged that a huge amount has been drawn from Government exchequer without executing any work on ground, besides extending undue benefits, under various schemes, to undeserving persons of the village, the spokesman said. (AGENCIES)
