SVC orders for action against Revenue, MC officials

JAMMU, Feb 17: While considering the report submitted by the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee (MC), Pampore, sought by the Commission, in a complaint filed by the inhabitants of Pampore alleging therein large scale corruption resorted by the officials of MC Pampore and Revenue Department, the State Vigilance Commission has directed Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama to initiate action against the accused officials and submit action taken report to the Commission by first week of next month.
Earlier, the inhabitants of Pampore had filed a complaint with State Vigilance Commission (SVC) alleging therein that officials of Municipal Committee, Pampore and then Tehsildar Pampore and Patwari Drengbal in league with each other have sold Kahchari land and allowed illegal construction on it. They further alleged that Municipal Committee has issued permission for construction to one Gh Mohammad Bhat of Drangbal Khankah Pampore on the said Kahchari land.  In the complaint, they had also stated that no action was taken by the Tehsildar to stop this illegal action despite alert by concerned Girdawar about the matter.
On perusal of report submitted by Executive officer, MC Pampore, the Commission  came to the conclusion that encroachment and illegal construction on Kahcharie land has taken place due to wilful negligence of the officials of revenue department and MC, Pampore and, accordingly, directed the Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama to initiate action against the officials namely Mushtaq Ahmad Bajad, then Tehsildar, Pampore (Administrator MC Pampore) Mohd Ismail Mir, then I/c Executive Officer, MC Pampore, Ali Mohammad Naikoo, Khilafwarzi Inspector, Yaqoob Ahmad Shah, Khilafwarzi Assistant, Farooq Ahmad Ganai, Sanitary Supervisor (dealing Assistant) Mohd Sidiq Wani Khilafwarzi Supervisor, Mohmad Subhan Sheikh, Sanitary Supervisor and Jalal-ud-Din Sheikh Jamadar indicted in the report of Executive Officer, MC Pampore.
The DC has also been asked to submit action taken report to the Commission by or before March 8, 2017.
