Suryansh, Amritansh, Irfan emerge winners in Speedball; Kashmir lifts Volleyball title

JAMMU, Oct 14: Inter Division State Level Competitions in various disciplines, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports were played at Kathua and Poonch.
KATHUA: Inter Division State Level Speedball Competition for all age group boys and girls were held at sports stadium here. The competition was inaugurated by DYSSO Kathua Subash Chander Bhardwaj in presence of ZPEOs Mohan Lal (Convener), Kailash Chander, Rajesh Kumar, Surinder Kour and Pardeep Singh.
In under-19 years boys single, Suryansh of Jammu defeated Gulam Mohammad Shah of Kashmir by 2-0 sets, whereas in under-17 category, Amritansh Singh of Jammu defeated Irfan Nabi Bhat of Kashmir by 2-0 sets and in under-14 category, Mubasher Rasool of Kashmir trounced Chain Singh of Jammu by 2-0 sets.
In under-19 years boys solo, Gurmanjeet Singh of Jammu made 431 shots in 4 minutes and Adnan Naseer Shah of Kashmir made 257 shots, whereas in under-14 category, Yuv Raj Singh of Jammu made 357 shots in 4 minutes whereas Ikhlaq Manzoor of Kashmir made 280 shots.
In under-19 years boys relay, Team Jammu consisting of Ashutosh Singh, Sidharth Mahajan, Pranay Gupta and Rahul Meeria won the title by smashing 299 shots in 4 minutes, whereas Team Kashmir comprising of Jahangir Singh, Gulam Mohammad, Zamin and Bilal Mir remained runner up with 117 shots in 4 minutes.
The events were officiated by Ashok Kumar Magotra, Ajay Kumar, Rajat Sharma, Nav Jyoti Salathia, Rakesh Kumar, Kiran Bala, Raj Kumar. Contingent Incharges Gurucharan Singh, Mudssar Ahmed Bhat and Kuldeep Singh, Kamal Kumar, Hardev Singh, Sanjeev Sunny were also present on the occasion.
POONCH: Inter Division Volleyball Competition for all age group boys concluded at Government Degree College, here today.
In under-19 category, Jammu won the tournament by winning two matches in best of the three matches, whereas in under-17 category, Kashmir emerged winner by 2-1 and in under-14 category, Kashmir won the tournament by 2-1 against Jammu. In the tournament, Kashmir remained overall winner, while Jammu stood runner-up.
On the valedictory function, Ayaz Khan, DYSSO Poonch was the chief guest, who awarded the winner and runner-up teams in presence of Narjeet Singh ZPEO, Mohammad Qasim, ZEPO, Nirdosh Kumar, Incharge Sports Stadium, Narinder Singh, Damanpreet Singh and Gurwinder Singh.
The matches were officiated by Mohammad Tariq, Neeraj Kumar, Sourab Sharma, Iklaq, Rameez, Majid Dar, Shafqat Hussian, DK Raina and Abbass.
