SURAT (GUJARAT), Dec 7: Union Minister and BJP Election “Sah-Prabhari” (Co-Incharge) for Gujarat Assembly election, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that Surat will be one-sided contest for BJP.
Participating in a car rally with Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Vinubhai Mordia  in Katargam Assembly constituency of Surat city on the last day of the election campaign, Dr Jitendra Singh said, even between today and the date of polling, the BJP graph is going to rise further and the result of the votes cast in the first phase on 9th December will register a new record of BJP victory.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, Gujarat has always been a model for other States in more ways than one. For example, he said, if Gujarat is today acknowledged as a model of governance and also a model of BJP’s organizational culture, the current election is going to send out another message from Gujarat, which is that, the definition of anti-incumbency has been defied and new phrase of “pro-incumbency” has been introduced in the Indian politics.
Surat holds its own importance in current election, said Dr Jitendra Singh, because it has a mixed population of industrialists, traders as well as different communities and castes. Moreover, it is one of the fast upcoming cities of Gujarat with the progressive influence of cosmopolitan cities like Mumbai which is proximally located. Therefore, he said, the message emanating from Surat will be an acknowledgement of the new trends initiated for creation of “New India”.
With the election campaign coming to an end this evening, Dr Jitendra Singh said, a public rally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proved to be a befitting grand finale to the conclusion of the first-phase of electioneering in the State.
