KATHUA, July 18: A Legal Metrology team under the supervision of Assistant Controller, Kuldeep Raj here today inspected one M/s Techno Care Technologies—the supplier of Biomax brand Aadhar based Biometric Attendance Machines.
The inspecting team found all the machines without MRP and name and address of manufacturer. Other necessary declarations required under Legal Metrology Packaged Commodities Rules were also not found on the machines.
The local supplier and the manufacturer were booked and the Biometric machines were seized.
The supplier was directed to produce bill and other relevant records before Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Kathua for further legal action under rules.
Inspectors Devi Lakhanpuria and Pritam Salaria were present in the inspecting team.
It is pertinent to mention here that there are reports that after the Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued directions for registration of Government employees under Aadhar Enabled Biometric Attendance System, the Biometric machines are being sold by the traders at their own rates in the absence of MRP and other mandatory declarations required on the packaged commodities.
