RAJOURI, May 21: Super Kings Dhangri crushed Rajouri Lions by 10 wickets in the opening match of the JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, which was inaugurated by SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas in a well attended function at District Police Lines ground, here today.
DR Shazia, DySP was the guest of honour during the inaugural function arranged by Mohinder Singh, Coordinator, Rajouri District Tournament Organizing Committee formed by J&K Cricket Association under the supervision of retired Judge Jang Bahadhur Singh Jamwal and Sham Saroop Kalsotra, Committee of Members, JKCA, Jammu.
Earlier, put into bat Nowshera Lions bundled out for paltry 83 runs in 17 overs. Abas (20) and Jaspreet (15) were the main scorers. For Super Kings Dhangri Pardeep was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets, while Yogesh and Varun shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, Super Kings Dhangri achieved the target in 7 overs, without losing any wicket. Ankit Kousar and Varun Sharma contributed unbeaten 41 and 33 runs to the total respectively, thus won the match by 10 wickets. Varun Sharma of Super Kings Dhangri was declared as the man of the match.
Twenty four teams are participating in this tournament, which is being held under the patronage of Justice CK Prasad, retired Judge of the Supreme Court and Justice Syed Rafat Alam, retired Chief Justice of MP and Allahabad High Courts and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), JKCA, Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, retired DIG.
