Sunil takes stock of people’s grievances

KISHTWAR, Nov 11: Minister of State For Transport, Public Works (R&B), Revenue, RDD and Panchayti Raj, Agricultural Production & YSS, Sunil Kumar Sharma, today listened to the issues of  locals at Waza Mohalla, Semina Colony.
The residents of Semina colony and its adjoining areas projected the demands and problems faced by them in day to day matters.
Main demands were regarding irregular water supply to the area. They demanded early augmentation of the existing schemes.
Other demands included construction of a circular road connecting to the main road, installation of new electric poles, construction of lanes and drains, maintenance of cleanliness in and around the colony.
The Minister resolved most of the issues on the spot and asked the   concerned departments to take immediate action to address the remaining problems.
Responding to the connectivity demand, the Minister directed XEn R&B Kishtwar to invite tenders within a week time and pursue the matter properly afterwards.
Regarding water supply, the Minister said an amount of Rs 17 lakh will be utilised for the purpose on war footing basis.
Meanwhile, the BDO was directed to take immediate steps for the construction of lanes and drains in the area.
Similarly XEn PDD was directed to provide electric poles for the area on priority basis wherever required.
Referring to string of power projects proposed for Kishtwar, he said   the district would soon witness a boom in employment sector with the start of work on these projects.
