NEW DELHI, Nov 28: Minister of State for Transport, Sunil Kumar Sharma today called on Union Transport Minister, Kailash Gehlot, to discuss issues regarding shifting of JKSRTC Yard from Tis Hazari.
Pertinently, Delhi High Court has issued an order for eviction of JKSRTC yard from Tis Hazari.
Sharma informed that JKSRTC provides the only link by road between Srinagar and Delhi and with this eviction local public will face tremendous difficulty. He urged upon the Delhi Government to provide an alternative place for parking to JKSRTC for operation of the buses.
Gehlot assured Sunil Sharma that they shall explore the possibility of providing an alternative parking space for JKSRTC buses by taking up the matter with MCD. However, he said that JKSRTC can carry its operations from Sarai Kale Khan till an alternate place is identified and provided.
MD JKSRTC, Mir Afroz, besides senior officers of Revenue and Transport Departments of Delhi Government were present on the occasion.
