JAMMU, July 19: Former Minister and BJP MLA from Marh Assembly Segment Ch. Sukhnandan Kumar has expressed grave concern over the shortage of anti rabies injection in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu.
In a statement issued here, today he said it is astonishing that the anti rabies injection being a life saving drug is not available in one of the leading medical institutes of the State and this way the lives of those people who are bitten by dogs are deliberately being put to risk by the authorities.
The MLA said that the callousness of the concerned authorities who failed to arrange this important drug in the hospital reveals their inefficiency and incompetence.
The MLA has appealed the Advisor looking after Medical Education and Health Department in the State to look into the mater and issue directives to concerned officers to arrange the anti rabies injections in the GMC at an earliest so that no patient has to suffer on account of the same.
The BJP leader has also taken up the issue with Chief Secretary of the State and sought his immediate intervention in the matter saying that Government can’t afford to put the lives of people to risk this way.
