Sugar millgate prices ease on supply pressure

NEW DELHI, June 23: Sugar millgate prices fell marginally by Rs 5 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following persistent supplies from mills.
On the other hand, sugar spot prices remained unchanged on some support.
The volume of business was weak.
Marketmen said ample stocks following relentless supplies from mills amid scattered buying by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drinks and ice-cream makers, mainly kept pressure on sugar millgate prices.
In the millgate section, sugar Chandpur, Asmoli, Budhana, Simbholi and Sakoti eased by Rs 5 each to end at Rs 3,570, Rs 3,620, Rs 3,590, Rs 3,620 and Rs 3,570 per quintal.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,830-3,920, S-30 Rs 3,820-3,910.
