Cardamom prices fall on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 22:  Cardamom brown prices fell by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today owing to muted demand from retailers and stockists amidst adequate stocks.
Increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on the cardamom brown prices.
Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut prices declined by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 660-680 and Rs 690-1,040 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down cardamom prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 120-180, black pepper (per kg) 600-780, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 660-680 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 690-1,020.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,225-1,350, cardamom (colour robin) 1,050–1,070, cardamom bold 1,110-1,130, cardamom extra (bold) 1,200-1,230 and cloves 540-640. (PTI)
