The protesting students, who were joined by their parents, locked the school and took out a march. They were raising slogans and demanding adequate teaching staff in the school. Reports said that after boycotting their classes, the protesting students blocked main Jamaslan-Mahore road for more than 3 hours. They appealed the Education Department to provide required staff in the school so that studies are not affected.
Presently there is only one teacher in the school for the last several months. “On one side, the Government is claiming that it will provide proper education to children, especially of rural area but on the ground the claim of the Government has proved to be hollow,” rued parents.
Later the protest dharna was lifted on the intervention of Police officials, who pacified the agitating students and their parents.
Meanwhile, a similar demonstration was held by the students of Jamlan school, who were protesting against non-availability of transport service.
Amidst shouting of slogans, the protesting students assembled at Jamlan Bazar in Mahore and block the road for more than half an hour.
The students said that due to non-availability of transport facility, they have to travel on foot with the result that they find it difficult to reach the school at time.
