UDHAMPUR, Nov 14: Agitated over worst condition of Ramnagar to Chowki-Katwalt road, local students held a strong protest against the Public Works Department, PWD (R&B) authorities, here today.
The protesting students were raising slogans against the PWD and District administration for their failure to repair the road. Demanding immediate repair and blacktopping of the road, they also blocked the Ramnagar to Chowki-Katwalt road,
The protesting students said that due to worst condition of the road, they used to get late in reaching the school whereas in case of raining, Mini Bus does not ply with the result they miss the school. “Despite manifold problems being faced by us, there has been no action by the district administration and PWD authorities to repaired and improve the road condition,” they lamented.
Some locals of village Chowki, Katwalt and adjoining area also joined the demonstration and threatened an indefinite protest till the road is repaired.
Those who addressed the protest, included Narendra Singh, Mandeep Singh, Sanjay.
Kumar, Mushtaq Ali, Dharmender Kumar, Sunil Kesar, Vinod Sharma, Sunil Singh, Rashid Ali, Mahendra Kumar and Kuldeep Kumar.
