Students protest for upgradation of Primary School

UDHAMPUR, Aug 6: Students of Government Primary School Loudhra and locals held a protest demonstration demanding upgradation of the school, which was established in 1972 and never upgraded since then.
The protesting students and villagers raised slogans in support of their demand and also took out a march.
The villagers lamented that after class 5th, their children have no option other than to walk 6-7 kms by foot through the forest area every day far to reach their school or leave the schooling. “Our children have to go to Kousal Middle School, which is far from our village. This makes the parents reluctant to send their wards, especially the girl students to school”, they added.
The residents of Loudhra have been demanding upgradation of Primary School to the level of Middle School since long but nothing was done even though the previous coalition Government upgraded 184 schools including 75 Middle Schools.
The villagers accused the previous Government of ignoring their area and the long pending demand.
