POONCH, May 21: Students of Govt High School Pathanateer and people of the adjoining areas today held strong protest demonstration in support of their demand of up-gradation of local High School to the Higher Secondary status in Mendhar sub division of Poonch district.
A large number of people and students of High School Pathanateer today came on the road and took out strong protest march. The agitating people were shouting slogans against the PDP-BJP Government and also in support of their demands.
Protesters alleged that they were neglected by the successive Governments. Every time they were assured of providing Higher Secondary School but they remained neglected. The people are hopeful that their long pending demand would be considered this time.
They alleged discrimination with the Pathanateer area on political reasons. After holding protest at the village for some time, then the people took out a protest march on the road. They strongly demanded that Higher Secondary School be established at Pathanateer without any delay.
They further warned to intensify their struggle and said that High School Pathanateer in all respects deserves Higher Secondary School status.
