DODA, Sept 1: Students of Government Degree College Doda today held a protest demonstration against shortage of staff in the college and criticized the Administration of Higher Education Department for its alleged step motherly treatment to GDC Doda.
The college is working with a megre staff of 7 Lecturers. While the college is being run by contractual staff members, they are not being given joining order even after counseling which was held twice, the protesting students explained. “On the other hand, students are suffering badly as the exams of first semester are approaching nearer,” they added.
In the college, there has been no lecturer of the subjects like Botany, Maths, Persian, Education, Urdu, History, Computer Application, etc. Student and their parents have had several protests but except assurances nothing was done to fill the posts.
The aggrieved students also lodged their complaint with DDC Doda, who assured that their demand would be fulfilled soon.
