JAMMU, Feb 25:  The aggrieved students of University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), who are protesting against the State Government’s decision of taking over management control of this RUSA funded Engineering College, will meet the Union Minister for Human Resources Development, Prakash Javadekar  on February 28 at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi.
During meeting with the HRD Minister, which is scheduled to be held at 2 pm, the Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh will accompany the UIET students and highlight their grievance in wake of the State Government’s move.
Pertinent to mention that Dr Jitendra Singh, who  was instrumental in getting the RUSA funded  Engineering College to Jammu University at Kathua Campus,  was allegedly kept in dark by the State Government before  Cabinet decision of taking over management control of the UIET.
Further, sources said that Dr Jitendra Singh has already taken up the UIET issue with the Governor N N Vohra, who is learnt to have conveyed that he was not taken into confidence by the State Government on the matter.
